Our Services
Regular chimney sweeping is essential for keeping your home safe, efficient, and free from fire hazards.
Over time, burning wood leaves behind highly flammable creosote buildup that can easily cause dangerous chimney fires. Our professional sweep thoroughly clears out this hidden soot, ash, and debris so you can light your next fire with total peace of mind.

Inspection Cancellation Policy: There is a $100 cancellation fee for any non-emergency
cancellation with less than one full business day’s notice of your scheduled
sweep/inspection appointment. By agreeing to this appointment, you agree to the
Cancellation Policy.
Please note that we will need FULL access to the chimney during the course of your
inspection/appointment. This can include the attic, basement and any other room that
the chimney runs through, as well as the roof. This is required for the proper inspection
you have booked for your chimney. If your roof is deteriorated and fails while we are on
the roof inspecting/repairing the chimney, Pinckletink Chimney Service LLC will not be
liable for any damages that occur. If your roof is in disrepair and we are able to see that
from the attic access, we may not go on the rooftop for that portion of the inspection. If
you know that your roof is unsafe/deteriorated, please let us know ahead of time, so that
we are not risking the safety of our crew by sending them onto your roof.
To keep our technicians safe, we ask that you do not have a fire for at least 12 hours
before your appointment, if you have a wood-burning appliance. We will not be able to
service your chimney if there is a fire or any hot embers and it will result in a
mileage/cancellation charge for our travel to your home. For a pellet appliance, please
have your appliance turned off for 8 hours before your appointment. Oil and
gas/propane are fine to run until your appointment, unless they are commercial sized
appliances.
Please be sure to have all manuals to your heating appliances (woodstoves, pellet
stoves, manufactured fireplaces, boilers/furnaces) out and available to the inspector
during your appointment.
If you are capable, please move any objects within 6 feet of your appliance and the flue
clean-out, so that we do not have to be concerned with damaging anything with our
tools as we work, or as we attempt to access the appliance and clean-out. If you do not
move any objects in the way of servicing your chimney/appliance, there will be an
additional cost for the time/effort needed to clear the area necessary for us to do the job
you hired us to do. While we will use the utmost care in moving your items, Pinckletink
Chimney Service LLC will not be liable for the breakage of any items left on/within the 6′
area of your appliance and flue access while we perform our service.
We ask that you make sure your driveway/private roads/walkways/stairs are cleaned of
any snow/ice and sanded, if needed. If the driveway/entry to the home/basement are
not cleared of ice/snow, there may be an additional charge for our crew to clear a path
to gain access to your home/basement in order to perform your chimney service.
If you have any animals, please put them in another room while we are there performing
our chimney service.
While we may have to make several trips in and out with our tools, many of which are
heavy and/or expensive, and we appreciate any desire to help “lighten the load”, for
your safety and our protection, please refrain from picking up, touching, moving or
carrying any of our tools, vacuums, ladders, etc. and allow our crew to handle it.
Due to regulations, we are not permitted to bring any of your soot or creosote away with
us, so we will need you to inform us of where you would like us to dispose of it on your
premises, or if you would just like it bagged so you can dispose of it in your trash. If we
do not receive notice of how you would like it disposed, we will bag it and leave it for
you to dispose of as you feel best.
Please let the crew know when they arrive if you would like them to wear protective
booties in your home.
Please remember that the price given to you at the time of booking was your starting
price. If your job takes longer than the allotted time frame due to heavy build-up, difficult
access, etc. the price will increase by $25 per additional half hour. If your woodstove
insert or hearth stove does not have a continuous liner to the top of the chimney, an
additional $50 may be added for difficult access. If we are unable to sweep a flue due to
severe deterioration, risk of causing a blockage or further damage, etc. a 10% discount
will be taken off the cost of your inspection of that flue.
